ISLAMABAD - Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defence Muhammad Ali Randhawa, accompanied by Member Admin, Member Engineering and Member Estate, conducted a surprise visit to the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project on Saturday. During the visit relevant officers, consultants, architects, and the project director briefed Chairman CDA on the latest progress of the project. During the briefing, it was informed that, as per the direction of Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the construction work of the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project is nearing its final stages. Chairman CDA was apprised that 85% of the construction work has been completed so far. Additionally, the finishing work on the underpass’s structural components has begun and will be completed within the given deadline.
Chairman CDA was further briefed that horticulture and electrical work for beautification of the Jinnah Square Underpass has also commenced. Officers informed him that the drainage system, roadwork and asphalt laying are progressing rapidly.
Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defence directed that work on all sections of the project must continue 24/7 simultaneously to further accelerate progress and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
He emphasized ensuring high-quality construction standards and instructed the installation of aesthetic landscaping, environmentally friendly plants and permanent modern LED lighting around the project.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that the completion of the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass will facilitate citizens’ travel needs, ensure smooth traffic flow, and help save fuel. He added that the project will provide signal-free travel facilities for passengers traveling from Islamabad International Airport to Murree and Kashmir.
He further remarked that with the timely completion of this project, CDA is set to achieve a major milestone in Islamabad’s road infrastructure development.
