Shahzad Town, with a population of approximately 10,000, is located west of National Park Road, Islamabad. A traffic signal that previously regulated the Town’s entry point was removed to ease traffic flow. However, the removal has placed pedestrians—particularly school-going children, women, the elderly, and teachers—at serious risk when crossing the busy road. Minor accidents are common, and a major tragedy could occur at any moment.

In the interest of public safety, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is urged to urgently install a pedestrian overhead bridge near the entry point. Alternatively, the previously removed traffic signal should be restored without delay.
