LCA fears wheat flour prices will increase

LARKANA - By increasing the wheat price under the prevailing conditions by the government, a new storm of inflation will come and rates of essential commodities of daily use will be touching sky, beyond the reach of a common man and the wheat flour will not be available even at Rs200 per kg. This was stated by Syed Sirajul Oliya Rashdi, President, Larkana Chamber of Agriculture (LCA) in a statement issued here on Saturday.
He said the daily wagers, labourers and the low paid employees will not be able to feed their children in such a very difficult situation. He said despite high court directives no relief operations and tent cities have been established in Taluka Warah and people are dying of hunger due lack of food. He said under the prevailing situation what kind of relief is being given to the farmers by raising the wheat price.
He said that rain and flash flood victims should be paid compensation forthwith to enable them to live their life, agricultural loans of the farmers should be waived off and advised the rulers to get free supply of wheat seed, DAP, fertilizer from China as a relief and supply the same to the peasants free of cost.
