SUKKUR - A temporary ban has been imposed on night-time landing of planes at Sukkur Airport in the wake of the damaged airfield lighting system till September 25.

As per the Airport Manager, the decision was taken on Saturday due to the unprecedented floods and rainfalls that wreaked havoc in the country and left many sectors dysfunctional.  However, the authorities are working on emergency basis for the maintenance of airfield lighting system. However, the ban will remain in force until September 25. “The Civil Aviation Authority has also issued a notice to all airlines regarding night-time landing. Moreover, Taxiway Charlie of Sukkur Airport is fully functional,” said the Airport Manager. On the other side, Mohenjo Daro and Nawabshah Airports are completely closed for flight operations.
