ISLAMABAD - A 36-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a speeding train while crossing a railway track in F-17 Sector, informed sources on Saturday.

The incident took place within the limits of Police Station Tarnol. 

The body of the woman was moved to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for autopsy, where she was identified as Mrs Asad, resident of Attock district, they said. 

According to sources, a woman was crossing the railway track in sector F-17 and could not judge the speeding train coming from the opposite side. They said the woman died on the spot after being hit with the train. The locals alerted police about the occurrence of the incident which rushed to the scene and moved the body to PIMS for post-mortem. Later, the doctors handed over the body to legal heirs for burial.
