The amenity plot in Orangi Town, commonly referred to as the German School, was originally designated for educational purposes. Unfortunately, it has fallen into the hands of land grabbers. This vital institution, once meant to uplift the community through education, has been illegally occupied, robbing the residents of a much-needed learning space.
Recently, the Sindh High Court issued a directive that the land should be handed over to a reputable institution to ensure it is used for its intended purpose.
In light of this, I urge the Sindh government and relevant authorities to promptly transfer the land to NED University. Renowned for its academic excellence and commitment to public service, NED has already contributed significantly to underprivileged communities, including sending faculty to teach students in Orangi Town.
If entrusted with this institution, NED can restore the school, providing quality education, technical training, and mentorship to the students. This will not only safeguard the land from further illegal encroachments but also turn it into a beacon of hope for the local youth.
The residents, educators, and students of Orangi Town are anxiously awaiting a decision. For the sake of justice and the future of countless children, the government must act swiftly and ensure the school is returned to its rightful educational purpose.
