RAWALPINDI - The Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi bench, on Monday directed the Punjab government to submit its para-wise comments in reply of identical petitions filed by some 30 prosecutors sacked by the provincial government on July 25. The LHC judge, Justice Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, asked Assistant Advocate General (AAG) Chaudhry Hasaan to submit the reply of the Punjab government after the government lawyer said he could not get comments from the provincial government in response to the petitions filed by 30 deputy and assistant public prosecutors of Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum. The court adjourned the hearing sine die. The lawyer of the petitioners Sardar Abdul Razzak said the court suspended the July 25 orders of the government on July 31 and directed the respondents to file comments but they had failed to reply to the court. The petitioners had maintained that they were induced in Public Prosecution Department after the government introduced Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service Act 2006 after fulfilling all defined criteria and procedure in 2007. They were later interviewed by a committee and were declared successful.
