Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said the government would fulfill all the pledges it made with the nation including abolition of 17th amendment and 58-2-B. He said the government was focusing on bringing economic boom to the country by strengthening its industrial and communication sectors. Addressing a large gathering here after the ground-breaking ceremony of the Rs 50 billion M-4 motorway to link Faisalabad with Multan, Gilani said the extension of the motorway to link it with the port city of Karachi will be a boon for countrys industry as Faisalabad was the 'Manchester of Pakistan. He said the motorway will pay back for itself within years as it will help in rapid transport of goods and merchandise to and from Faisalabad to the rest of the country. He directed the ministry of communication to complete the project before the stipulated time to ensure that the textile city is linked to the rest of the country. The prime minister said the Benazir Income Support Program will bring several benefits to the people and they will get 200 units of electricity free of cost, besides getting natural gas at discounted rates.
