‘Cleanliness campaign in progress’






RAWALPINDI  - District Officer Solid Waste Management Dr Mazhar Azeem said on Saturday that cleanliness campaign is in progress on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr.
Earlier, a meeting was headed by District Officer Solid Waste Management in which the cleanliness of graveyards and Eidgah was reviewed. Among other, Chief Sanitary Inspectors, Lari Inspectors and the staff attended the meeting.
The District Officer directed to keep the city neat and clean and for deploying the necessary staff to perform their duties on Eid. A control room has been opened at the office of District Officer which would look after all the matters pertaining to the cleanliness arrangements.
On the other hand, some localities of the city, including Waris Khan, Dhoke Khaba, Mokha Singh State, Umer Road, Dhoke Elahi Baksh, Nadeem Colony, Arya Mohallah and Javed Colony are giving dity look because of heaps of garbage. Arif, a resident of Dhoke Elahi Baksh, said that there were heaps of garbage in the locality.
Many complaints have been lodged with the authorities, but no action had been taken.
