6 new films to be screened


LAHORE – The cinemas of the provincial metropolis will screen six new movies, three each from Lollywood and Hollywood, on the auspicious occasion of Eid, TheNation has learnt.
All three Lollywood productions to be screened on Eid – ‘Sharika’, ‘Gujar Da Kharak’ and ‘Dil Diyan Lagiyan’ – have Shan and Saima in the lead roles. A Bollywood production ‘Aik Tha Tiger’, which was expected to be screened in City cinemas on Eid, has been dropped because the Censer Board did not approve it. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are playing the lead roles in the movie.
As per details, ‘Sharika’, directed by Syed Noor and having Shaan, Saima, Mustafa Qureshi and Irfan Khoosat in the cast, will be screened at Shabistan Cinema; ‘Gujar Da Kharak’, produced by Arshad Khan would be showcased at Prince Cinema; and ‘Dil Diyan Lagiyan’ would be exhibited at Capital Cinema.
Most of the City cinema such as Gulistan, Cinestar, Sozo World, PAF and Cinegold will screen one or more of the three Holloywood movies including ‘Dark Night’, ‘Total Recall’ and ‘Expendable 2’.
‘Dark Night’ will be exhibited at Gulistan, Cinestar, Sozo World, PAF and Cinegold; ‘Total Recall’ will be screened at Plaza Cinema, Cinestar, Sozo World, PAF and Cinegold; and ‘Expendable 2’ will be showcased at DHA, Cinestar, PAF, Cinestar, Sozo World and Cinegold.
However, some cinemas of the City will continue to screen old Bollywood and Lollywood movies. For example, Metropole Cinema will continue screening ‘Cocktail’, a Bollywood movie. After Eid, a Bollywood movie ‘Sherin Farhad Ki Tu Nikal Pari’ is expected to be released in City cinemas.
Leading theatres of the City are also presenting new plays with prominent stage actors on the occasion of Eid. A comedy stage show ‘Khail Qismat Ka’ will be performed at Mehfil Theatre wherein Megha, Nasir Chinioti, Khushbu, Sakhawat Naz and others will perform. Al-Falah Theatre is presenting ‘Jawan Ho Gae’.
