RAWALPINDI – Residents of Chungi No 22 are facing massive problems due to neglect of cantonment board and local administration, as shortage of water, deflated road and unhygienic conditions persisted in the area. According to details, the resident of the area urged the cantonment board to pay attention to solve the problems being faced by the people as they are forced to fetch drinking water from far flung areas due to non availability of clean water.
A resident, Mohammad Shafiq, told INP that dilapidated road was also creating trouble for the people as due to huge traffic, single and very old road was not enough for the increasing population and traffic.
Another resident, Zahid Khan said that the cantonment board was not paying attention to repair the footpath as sewerage water from footpath was flowing on the road which was creating several problems and diseases.
Pervez told the agency that business including scrap dealing, goats selling at the footpath was on top which is big trouble for the people, adding that Drugs selling and purchasing as well as Gambling in public places was also going on with the help of RA Bazar police station.
“Our new generation is suffering due to these social evils, Saleem said, adding that a big ground owned by cantonment board in the area is being used for selling and purchasing drugs and used by gambling dens and other social evils. The cantonment board and police were silent spectators in this regard.
