TOBA TEK SINGH - Former executive district officer (education) Malik Munawar Hussain has compulsorily retired for his involvement in selling of helping books to students of government schools in the district.

An order issued on Friday by the Punjab Secretary School Education Muhammad Aslam. He also awarded punishment to two more officers of the district including former district officer education Jamat Ali and Kamalia deputy district education officer Muhammad Tahir Mansoor. The order added that after different inquiries conducted by high officers on the order of the Punjab chief minister. At first, 16 more officials of education department of the district were found guilty but the last inquiry conducted by Punjab additional director public instructions Inayatullah Jatoi exonerated them from the charges.

They included Toba education assistant director Muhammad Afzal, Kamalia assistant education officerMs Anees Fatima, Pirmahal AEO Rehana Yasmin, Arrouti AEO Muhammad Hanif, Pirmahal centre AEO Munir Ahmad, Kamalia centre AEO Khalid Mahmood, Kamalia Eastern area AEO Tariq Mahmood Khathana, Gojra No 3 AEO Ms Rakhshanda, Gojra AEO Tasneem Kausar, Gojra AEO Khalid Latif, Government Girls High School SST Ms Riffat Raja, Toba AEO Ms Gulshad, Mazhar, Rajana AEO Munir Ahmad, Chuttiana AEO Raza Hussain Bukhari, Toba AEO Ms Bushra Javed and Rajana AEO Ms Maqsooda Ijaz.
