Vehari - Three notorious outlaws were killed while a police constable sustained injuries during an armed encounter between CCD Circle Police and dacoits near Dream Land City, Chak No 45-WB Vehari. According to details on Monday, a CCD police team was on routine patrol when six unidentified suspects, allegedly planning a robbery, opened indiscriminate fire on the police party. The police retaliated in self-defense, triggering a heavy exchange of fire. During the clash, Constable Naeem Shoukat was injured by a bullet fired by the criminals. Police officials said three of the suspects were fatally hit by the firing of their own accomplices, while the remaining three managed to flee under the cover of darkness. Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and confirmed the death of the injured suspects, who were shifted along with the wounded constable to DHQ Hospital Vehari. The deceased criminals were later identified as Nazar Muhammad son of Amir Bakhsh, resident of Daulatabad Luddan; Akram son of Nazeer Ahmad, resident of 23-WB Vehari; and Tanveer Ahmad son of Munawar Ali, resident of district Narowal. They were wanted in multiple cases of heinous crimes in Vehari, Sialkot, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, and Narowal. Sources revealed that the slain outlaws were also involved in a recent house robbery within the jurisdiction of Thingi police station. Police recovered two snatched motorcycles, two mobile phones, and two pistols from the scene. District Officer CCD Shahid Farooq said raids are underway to arrest the remaining suspects, stressing that protection of citizens’ lives and property is the top priority of the police.
