IGP asked to recruit DSPs directly

KARACHI  - The provincial home department has asked Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Allah Dino Khawaja for the direct appointment of deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) in the Sindh police department.
In a letter sent to IGP Sindh by a home department Sindh, the provincial home department stated that according to existing recruitment rules the DSPs (BS-17) shall be appointed by direct recruitment form amongst the persons not already in the government service by the promotion of inspectors. “But unfortunately, the direct recruitment against the post of DSPs has not been made for a long time from now. In order to ensure smooth running of the institutions and in the public interest it is necessary that fresh blood may be incorporated in the Sindh police,” stated the letter.
It further stated that the secretary, Sindh Police service commission has apprised that almost all departments of Sindh government have furnished requisite information / documents for inviting application for combined competitive examination, but, the report has not been received from home department. He has further stated that in this regard advertisement will be got published in leading daily newspapers in ¾ days and has requested to furnish the requisite information the earliest.
It is requested therefore requested that the stating position showing the total sanctioned strength, working strength and vacancies in the rank of DSPs (BS-17) (male/female) including the number of vacancies to be now filled-in through Sindh Public Service Commission may be apprised for its onward transmission to Sindh Public Service Commission by positively.
