SW tribesmen demand lifting of curfew

Peshawar   -  Activists of Waziristan Students Society (WSS) on Thursday protested outside Peshawar Press Club and demanded the government to lift curfew from Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan tribal district.

Speaking on the occasion, WSS elder Attaullah and others said the curfew had caused shortage of necessary commodities in the area.

They said the curfew was clamped down after internal clashes erupted over land disputes in South Waziristan, while some said it was the result of a recent attack on the personnel of security forces in the area.

The speakers urged the government to lift curfew and restore peace in the area by finding a peaceful solution to the crisis. The representatives of Pakhtun Students Federation (PkSF) also attended the demonstration.
