KARACHI - Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Friday called for collective efforts from the state institutions
and civil society to help curb the menace of corruption. Talking to a 15-member delegation of Assistant Directors (Investigation) of FIA academy Islamabad, led by Deputy Commandant FIA academy Imran Khalil at Governor’s House Friday, the Governor also stressed upon the young officers to work with spirit to curtail corrupt practices and eliminate corrupt elements from the society.
He emphasised that anti-corruption efforts and economic development of any society were inter-linked and it was the shared responsibility of all the stakeholders.
He said that the recent increase in international remittances and revenue collection reflected the fact that the belief of the people in the policies of present government was being strengthened.
He said that a country existed to provide its citizens with freedom from poverty & injustices and to ensure a quality of life where they were able to live without fear of injustice and tyranny. Nothing harms these objectives more than corruption and malpractices, he added.
