Pak-Turkey cooperation against Islamophobia stressed

LAHORE   -   Allama Iqbal and Mevlna Rumi are the real face of not only Pakistan and Turkey but also the Muslim world. Iqbal is the continuation of thoughts and philosophy of Rumi.

These views were expressed in a seminar titled ‘Mevlana Rumi and Allama Iqbal’ organised by Muslim Institute and Ministry of Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony in Lahore.

Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said: “According to Iqbal and Rumi, the Muslim identity is based on spiritual principles rather than material or territorial principles. Iqbal and Rumi’s thought embraces globalisation. In order to combat Islamophobia and extremism, it is necessary to bring the true face of Islam in front of the world. In this regard, Pakistan and Turkey must work together to promote the thoughts of Rumi and Iqbal.”
