Two women among five drug peddlers arrested

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) held two lady smugglers on GT Road and recovered 2.5-kg heroin from their possession. Similarly, several raids were also conducted against the drug peddlers across the country, recovering drugs and arresting 3 smugglers, informed ANF Headquarters spokesman here on Friday. According to him, ANF Rawalpindi arrested 2 lady drug smugglers namely Shumaila and Humaira, residents of Swabi, and recovered 2.5-kg heroin from their possession. They were arrested at Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock while travelling in a passenger bus, he added. He informed that another ANF team apprehended a passenger namely Arshad Ali at Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIIAP), who confessed of having ingested heroin filled capsules in his stomach. He was boarding for Dubai by flight number PK-230. On the other hand, ANF during four operations at Islamabad, Attock and Lahore recovered 3.5-kg heroin, 2-kg Opium and 500 grams Charas while arrested 3 persons.–Staff Reporter
