Wapda’s Rameez and Perniya win men, women singles TT titles

PESHAWAR - Pakistan Wapda’s Muhammad Rameez and Perniya Khan clinched the men and women singles titles in the All Pakistan National Ranking Master Cup Table Tennis Championship played here at Lala Rafique Sports Arena on Sunday. 
Hailing from Swat, top seeded and international player Muhammad Rameez secured his top position out of the league matches as he won eight out of nine matches. Another international table tennis player who also represent Pakistan in the Commonwealth Games in Goal Cost Australia, Fahad Khawaja of Wapda won seven matches and secured second position while Shah Khan finished third after winning six matches and Asim Qureshi won six matches earned fourth position. 
In the women’s league matches, Wapda’sPerniya Khan won all her seven matches to secure first position. Wapda’s Ayesha Sharjeel won five matches to win the second position, Pakistan Army’s Khaiqa Hassan won the third position when she won five matches while Sanam Yaseen and Sana Muzaffar of Army bagged the fourth and fifth positions respectively. In the men’s team event, Pakistan Wapda finished first, KP second and Sindh third. In the women’s team event, Wapda once again claimed the first position, Punjab second and KP third. 
Member Provincial Assembly Malik Wajid and Managing Director Long March Sher Alam along with Chairman KP Table Tennis Association Azmat Hanif Orakzai witnessed the thrilling finals. Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) Vice President Saleem Khan, KPTTA Vice President Kifayat Ullah Orakzai, coaches Amina, Absar Ali and Saira Khan were also present on the occasion. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and medals to the position holders.
