Seminar on ‘Children health and vaccination'

OKARA - DCO Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah has said parents should get their children vaccinated to save them against various diseases.
He was addressing a seminar on 'Children's Health and Vaccination' organized by the Health Department here the other day.
EDO Health Dr Saeed Ullah Khan, DO Health Dr Mohammad Athar, DO Social Welfare Rana Mohammad Ashraf, DHQ Hospital MS, Depalpur THQ Hospital MS and other officers concerned attended the seminar.
The DCO said that "routine vaccination was the right of every child and being community, it was the responsible of all to provide this to children".
He stressed that parents must be told about the threat of disability that polio poses to their children.
He said that the District Health Department started free vaccination programme across the district. He also directed health officers to ensure that every child in rural or urban areas - was vaccinated. He warned negligent officials of strict action, advising them to "work with honesty, patriotism and diligence."
Addressing the seminar, EDO Health Dr Saeed Ullah Khan said that the Health Department added vaccine pnemo cokkit of pneumonia this year which price more than Rs4,000 per injection but the department was supplying it free of cost. He said that about 4,500 children had been administered vaccine across the district so far.
