peshawar - A woman and two men were arrested on charges of murdering a female polio worker in the suburbs of Peshawar, a senior police official said on Friday.
SSP Operations Haroon Rahseed told a press conference that Iqra was killed while on duty during a vaccination campaign.
He said that a female friend of the slain health worker had hired an assassin by paying Rs500,000 because she thought Iqra had an affair with her husband. The arrestees were identified as Jawad, Sami Ullah and the woman who was thought to have orchestrated the murder.
Earlier, the police had arrested an ex-fiancé of the slain woman, but later he was freed when the blind murder case was solved.
