The Lahore High Court Friday sought reply from Punjab Public Service Commission in a petition challenging abolishing of quota for disabled persons and women in annual competitive examination in Punjab.
Sara Ahmad, a citizen, filed the petition through her counsel Advocate Afrasiab Mughal submitting that quota for disabled persons and for women had been abolished in PPSC's exams.
She said it was discriminatory and against the fundamental rights of the citizens because under various articles of the constitution, the state is bound to provide equal facilities to the citizens as well as equal opportunities.
The petitioner prayed the court to set aside the decision of abolishing special persons’ quota and the quota for women in PMS.
