Authorities in Karachi have intensified their crackdown on illegal cattle markets across the city ahead of Eidul-Adha, with a major operation carried out by Sachal Police in the Safoora Chowrangi area and its surroundings.

The action comes in the wake of Section 144 being imposed citywide, prohibiting the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in unauthorized locations. During the operation, several makeshift cattle pens were dismantled, dozens of animals were seized, and at least 10 individuals were arrested for violating the ban.

Law enforcement agencies have been directed to take strict action against any illegal cattle market operations. So far, four FIRs have been registered in connection with the violations.

The Commissioner of Karachi had imposed Section 144 on May 9 for a one-month period, restricting animal trading to 14 officially designated sites spread across the city's seven districts. The order aims to maintain public order, prevent traffic congestion, and ensure cleanliness during the pre-Eid period.

Authorities have warned that any cattle markets set up outside the approved zones will face immediate legal consequences.
