KARACHI - An important meeting of the Board of Directors of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Karachi and Chairman of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation, Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, Dr. Sarosh Lodhi, Abdul Kabir Qazi, Tanzil Pirzada, Zafar Sobani, CEO KW&SC Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, COO KW&SC Engineer Asadullah Khan, and other board members.
According to the Spokesperson of the KW&SC, the minutes of the previous ninth board meeting were approved during the session, while several important agenda items were approved in the tenth meeting.
The meeting included a detailed discussion on the Master Plan 2050, covering various aspects.
Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, directed that swift implementation of the Master Plan 2050 be ensured so that the citizens of Karachi may have improved water supply and drainage facilities in the future.
On this occasion, possible amendments to the relevant law were also considered to address the issue of water theft.
The Water Corporation Board approved a formal request to be submitted to the Sindh Government, so that after the amendment, the Water Corporation may obtain full legal authority to confiscate the properties of individuals involved in water theft.
The meeting also approved key appointments to strengthen the organizational structure of the water utility.
According to the KW&SC Spokesperson, Muhammad Ammar Khan was approved as Chief Financial Officer, Jamshed Raza as Chief Human Resource Officer, Naveed Afzal as Chief Strategy Officer, and Saadat Anwar as Chief Information Technology Officer.
