Mexico’s Elderly beauty pageant Queen

Metro - Eight golden girls from Mexico have proved age is no barrier to achieving fame by entering the Queen of the Elderly beauty pageant.
The event in Guadalajara city, western Mexico, is open to ladies between 65 and 75 years old and they must be prepared to answer questions about their lives and what being a senior citizen means in the modern day.
The top prize is rather less impressive than the ones available to Miss World. The winner gets a handbag and jewellery made by local designers.
The minimum age is 60 years and competitors from more than 30 states take part. They have to show a talent, take part in an interview and wear an evening gown. There is no swimsuit section, however.
