ISLAMABAD - EX-WAPDA power distribution companies (XWDISCOs) have sought NEPRA ap-proval for recovery of Rs42 billion from power consumers on account of various adjustments for the 2nd quarter of 2021-22.
In a petition submitted to NEPRA, the XWDISCOS sought the regulator permission to allow the transfer of burden of Rs14 billion on account of Transmission and Dis-tribution losses to consumers for the 2nd quarter of 2021-22. The XWDISCOs submitted a petition with National Electric Power Regulatory Au-thority (NEPRA) sought recovery of Rs 41.986bn on account of various adjust-ment for the 2nd quarter of FY2021-22.
Pursuant to the notified tariff, the XWDISCOs have filed their requests for adjust-ments on account of on account of Capacity Charges, Transmission Charges, vari-able operation and maintenance charges, impact of incremental units and impact of Transmission and Distribution losses on FCA for the 2nd quarter (October 2021 to December 2021) of FY 2021-22 in line with notified mechanism in this regard. Of the Discos, demanded Rs41.86 billion as quarterly adjustment for Oct to Dec 2021, Rs7.145 billion has been demanded on account of the Capacity Charges, Rs16.318 billion on Use of System Charges (UoSC) and Market Operator Fee (MoF), Rs14.033 billion as the impact of T&D losses on monthly Fuel Price Ad-justment (FPA) while Rs5.628 billion has been sought for Supplementary CPP In-voice. On variable Operations and Maintenance (O&M), the companies have shown a saving of Rs1,139 million.
As per the data shared with NEPRA, indicates that IESCO demanded recovery of Rs5.336 billion, LESCO Rs12.934 billion, GEPCO Rs4.665 billion, FESCO Rs4.117 billion, MEPCO Rs6.524 billion, PESCO Rs1.758 billion, HESCO Rs2.763 billion, QESCO Rs223 million and TESCO Rs4.470 billion. SEPCO has shown a saving of Rs804 million.
The authority will hold public hearing on XWDISCO petition on April 28, 2022.
