Pak women team hailed

LAHORE - Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat expressed delight and congratulated Pakistan Under-14 team for their committed and high-spirited display in reaching semi-final of eight-nation first-ever SAFF Women Football Championship at Bangladesh's tourist town of Cox's Bazar. "To beat Afghanistan and Maldives is not mere an achievement as all these teams have a firm history in football. It shows that our footballers have courage, exuberant and stamina," said Faisal and added: "It is brilliant display as Pakistan is playing only their second international event in female soccer circuit." Faisal observed that the team won the hearts of soccer fans back home through brilliant performance and continue their spirited fashion in future. He also said that when they will represent Pakistan in Under-16 and Under-19 teams. Faisal specially praised the performance of skipper Sana Mehmood who led the team with command plus goal scorers Malaika Noor, Mehwish Khan, Shelyla Baloch and Mejzgaan Orakzai. He also spoke highly of Asmaa Usman, Syeda Mahapara, Asmara Habib, Sahar Zaman, Shumaila Sattar, Naila Rana, Humera Nazir, Nadia Bhatti, Hajra Khan, Marium Laghari, Shahida Ghulam Raza, Abiha Haider and Ishrat Fatima.
