Police recover kidnapped girl from Lahore

islamabad - The CIA Islamabad police have recovered a kidnapped girl from possession of a driver from Lahore, police sources said on Friday.

(A), a student of Roots Millennium School I-9/3 Islamabad Branch, has been missing for the last three days as the driver took her from the school to Lahore with a ‘bad intention’.

According to a witness, the driver picked the girl in his car (BKI-3376) at around 1pm from the school but never dropped her at home. The police recovered the girl from possession of driver Iftikhar Ahmed son of Nadir Ali of Tehsil Gujjar Khan.

The Industrial Area police took action on the complaint of Syeda Asia Batool wife of Mushtaq Hussain Kazmi, mother of the girl and a resident of Gulrez Colony Phase-II, Rawalpindi.

Father of the girl, Mushtaq Hussain Kazmi told The Nation that the police recovered the girl from Lahore and arrested the driver. He said the girl is still in Dar-ul-Amaan and the family was trying to get her out of the shelter home as early as possible. When asked what were the intentions of the driver, Kazmi explained: “He is a bad man”.

He said the family knew the driver well for the last two years and his action was unexpected. The police have booked the driver under section 365-B of the PPC and further investigation is underway. The police said that the girl was transported to Lahore against her will.

Meanwhile, the police said that all police stations of Islamabad would be converted into model police stations with best atmosphere, to address public complaints on immediate basis and as per their satisfaction and law. “Seven police stations of Islamabad have been made model police stations while work would be started to convert rest of the police stations into model police stations within few days. Islamabad would have all model police stations in one year having the best friendly environment for public to interact with police,” said Inspector General of Police Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri here Friday.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Police Line Headquarters to award certificates to those Station House Officers and Additional SHOs attending leadership development course, he said Islamabad police would be made exemplary police force as per vision of Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal.

The ceremony was attended among others by DIG (Security) Waqar Ahmed Chohan, DIG (Headquarters) Nasir Mehmud Satti and other senior police officials.

The course was arranged by the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Programme at National Police Bureau. The experienced police officers, including IGP National Highways and Motorway Police Syed Kaleem Imam, DIG Muhammad Ali Baba Kehl delivered lectures to the participants.
