ISLAMABAD - In order to implement the judgement of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Suo Moto Case No. 5 of 2010, the Prime Minister directed the Establishment Division to propose a high-powered inquiry committee to probe into the allegations of illegalities and fix responsibility in award of contract for import of LNG. According to the handout issued from the Prime Minister House, the PM also directed that the committee would determine persons responsible in awarding the contract and conduct inquiry into the allegations of the irregularities. The committee would present its report to the Prime Minister. It is noted that the apex court while taking notice of the irregularities in import of LNG directed to review the contract of import of LNG.
