QAU student allegedly raped at IIUI

Islamabad - A Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) student has been allegedly raped at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) by his friends whom he met at the university hostel, The Nation learnt on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the university administration has suspended two students and an official allegedly involved in the crime. University officials also said that the administration called 15 after the incident, however, the alleged rape victim did not opt to pursue the legal procedure.
Associate Professor of Law Dr. Muhmmad Mushtaq Ahmed also wrote a letter to the university president sending copies to the patron in chief of the university and Rector IIUI Prof Dr. Masoom Yasinzai to act against elements involved in the crime.
The victim student in a video released claimed that he along with three other people (accused) entered the hostel who in tricked him and took to room 175 of the hostel.
According to the accused in the video, he was made unconscious and around 3-4 people raped him which resulted in clinical complications for him.
According to the video, the alleged rape victim left the hostel room in morning, and accused tried to threaten him to leave the university, however, he didn’t and the matter was brought to the notice of the university administration.
Meanwhile, the letter written by the AP of Law Dr. Muhmmad Mushtaq Ahmed said that a person from outside, reportedly from the QAU, was brought to a male hostel and was molested and raped here.
He said that one of the alleged rapists is Mr. Ibrahim Khan, a student of MS in Biotechnology. I know and appreciate the fact that you immediately convened the meeting of the Students Discipline Committee (SDC) which issued notifications for suspending the admissions of this culprit and one of his accomplices. Dr. Mushtaq said that I also know that the victim was sent to PIMS for medical assistance. However, a lot more needs to be done immediately because this was not just an act of indiscipline, it is grave sin as well as a heinous crime.
He demanded to immediately suspend all the above-named officials and take steps for lodging complaints of criminal cases against the culprits of the shameful incident.
He also said to form a high-level and impartial probe committee with full authority to inquire into the whole incident and see if it was the tip of the iceberg, and devise a long term and effective strategy for preventing such shameful incidents in future.
Spokesperson IIUI Nasir Farid talking to The Nation confirmed that the alleged victim student was of QAU, while the two IIUI students and an official involved in the incident have been immediately suspended from the university. 
He said that the alleged victim and accused were friends and he came to live with them on his own, but an unfortunate incident occurred.
Spokesperson IIUI said that the university administration after the incident came to its notice immediately called 15 police and took the victim to PIMS for medical examination.
He said that, however, the victim did not opt to register a police case against the accused. He said that three persons including two students have been immediately suspended by the university administration.
“However, the victim didn’t want any action against the accused who were his friends,” he said.
According to the notifications available with The Nation, university administration suspended the admissions of Ibrahim Khan holding the registration no. 496-FABS/MSBT/F20 and Mehmood Ashraf under the registration no. 3370-SE/BSECO/S19.
