SARGODHA - Additional District and Sessions Judge (AD&SJ) Muhammad Riaz Bhatti on Saturday awarded death sentence to two brothers involved in a murder case.
The court ordered the convicts to pay Rs2.1 million as compensation to the heirs of victim. According to the prosecution, Sohail and Gohar, residents of Purana Bhalwal abducted Amer Shahzad and killed him on suspicion of illicit relations with their sister, in 2009. Bhalwal police arrested the accused and presented challan in the court for trial.
Man ends life over domestic issues
A 50-year-old man committed suicide over domestic issues in Johrabad police limits, here on Saturday.
Police spokesperson said Umar Daraz of Bola village, was suffering from depression due to some domestic dispute. He ended his life by shooting himself. The deceased was father of three children.
RPO Sargodha listens to 44 appeals by policemen
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha Region Muhammad Faisal Rana on Saturday listened to 44 appeals of police officers and personnel during the orderly room, held at his office.
Some 24 appeals were declared valid, while the answers to 13 were termed unsatisfactory and orders were issued for reducing the sentence on seven appeals.
The RPO advised the police officers to perform their duties with honesty and dedication.
