ISLAMABAD  -  Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector during a high-level meeting on the sidelines of the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva.

Federal Minister for Health, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, met with his Chinese counterpart to discuss avenues for deeper collaboration in health-related initiatives.

The meeting underscored the historic and strategic ties between the two nations and emphasized mutual interests in improving public health outcomes.

“The friendship between Pakistan and China is exemplary. The hearts of our people beat in unison,” said Kamal. “We are committed to enhancing cooperation in healthcare, particularly in areas like vaccine production, traditional medicine, and advanced medical technologies.”

Minister Kamal highlighted Pakistan’s focus on building a self-reliant healthcare system, with ongoing reforms aimed at boosting domestic production of vaccines and essential medicines. He noted that such collaboration with China would play a crucial role in achieving these goals.

The Chinese Minister of Health echoed the sentiment, expressing China’s readiness to support Pakistan in sharing expertise and developing joint health initiatives. He emphasized the value of exchanging knowledge and fostering innovation to address common health challenges.
