Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan and China are working together to promote regional peace and remain united in combating terrorism.

In an exclusive interview with China Media Group, Lt Gen Chaudhry emphasized that both countries are responsible global actors with a shared commitment to the well-being of their people. “Prosperity stems from peace and stability,” he remarked.

Underscoring Pakistan’s resilience, he said, “After Allah, we rely on ourselves. Our firm resolve has repeatedly demonstrated that the international community also steps in when we show strength.”

He noted that global challenges such as climate change and rapid population growth require collective action, stressing that major powers are now focused on human progress. However, he criticized aggressive foreign policies, questioning whether a nation should dominate others based on unfounded accusations or false narratives.

Lt Gen Chaudhry warned that terrorism aims to obstruct development and progress. He praised China’s rapid advancements despite its population size and said the people of Pakistan similarly aspire for growth and stability.

Reaffirming national resilience, he said, “The Pakistani nation has never bowed to adversity—and never will. Martyrdom, whether for those in blue, white, or khaki, is a badge of honor greater than life itself.”

On India's unprovoked aggression, the armed forces of Pakistan launched a large-scale retaliatory military action, named "Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos", and targeted several Indian military targets across multiple regions on May 10.

The strikes, described by officials as "precise and proportionate", were carried out in response to India's continued aggression across the Line of Control (LoC) and within Pakistan's territory, which New Delhi claimed were aimed at "terrorist targets".

Pakistan downed its six fighter jets, including three Rafale, and dozens of drones. After at least 87 hours, the war between the two nuclear-armed nations ended on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States.

According to ISPR, a total of 53 individuals, including 13 personnel of the armed forces and 40 civilians, were martyred in Indian strikes during the recent military confrontation.

The military confrontation between the two countries was triggered by last month’s attack in IIOJK that left 26 tourists dead, with India blaming Pakistan for the attack without offering any evidence.
