Strict and disciplinary action against cops ordered

LAHORE - Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar, taking serious notice of public complaints has ordered strict legal and disciplinary action against five police officials including a traffic warden on the charges of abuse of power, corruption and defective investigation. The IGP issued these ordered on the applications of the citizens presented in the open sitting held at CPO here on Monday. A citizen of Lahore Abbas Masih alleged in his application that traffic warden Muhammad Yasin of Sabzazar area subjected him to torture and later also got registered a case against him in the police station. The IGP ordered SP Investigation Sadar to enquire into the matter and register a case against the said police official, he also directed Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) to initiate strict disciplinary action after conducting inquiry in this regard. A complainant of Mandi Bahauddin Muhammad Boota alleged that ASI Javed Iqbal and Constable Muha-mmad Khan of PS Phalia registered a fake case against his brother and now he was demanding illegal gratification in connection with investigation. The IGP ordered District Police Officer Mandi Bahauddin for registration of case against the said officials in the Anti-Corruption Department after holding inquiry into the matter. Likewise, Muhammad Akram alleged that Sub Inspector Investigation of PS Ghaziabad Lahore, Safdar Gujjar was demanding bribe for arresting the accused nominated in the case of kidnapping of his daughter. The IGP ordered SP Investigation Cantt for immediate apprehension of accused and taking strict legal / disciplinary action against the said police official on proving of charges. A complainant Tanvir Iqbal alleged that Sub Inspector Investigation of PS Mozang, Muhammad Aslam was demanding illegal gratification from him in connection with investigation. The IGP ordered SP Investigation Civil Lines for registering the case against the said official on proving of charges.
