OKARA – On the court premises, a person was shot dead while four others were seriously injured by their rivals.
Lal Khan, a resident of 34/2L, appeared in the court of Additional and Sessions Judge Malik Iqbal in a murder case. As soon as Lal Khan came out of the court with his friends Ghulam Mustafa, Rashid, Jaffer, Abdul Majeed, his rivals including Abid Rafique, Hashim etc opened indiscriminate fire on them.
As a result, all the five people were seriously wounded. Meantime, an accomplice of the attackers was also wounded. With firing, people started running to save their lives.
A worker of PPP was also wounded. Rescue 1122 shifted all the wounded persons to DHQ Hospital Okara where Lal Khan succumbed to injuries. However, Rashid and Abdul Majeed were referred to some Lahore hospital in serious condition.
DPO Akram Gondal reached the hospital. For the arrest of the criminals, the DPO has sent police teams. After the incident, the lawyers announced two-day strike. On the other side, the wounded attacker has been lifted from the hospital by his accomplices.
PO FOUND DEAD: A proclaimed offender involved in 19 cases and included in the most wanted list of district Okara police was killed by his companions and thrown into crops.
The police had been tipped off about the body lying in the crops in village Bongi Kalaan. SHO Hafiz Saeed with a police contingent reached the site.
The deceased was identified as Liaqat alias Nuddy. His wife told the police that his friend Khalid alias Khaldi had called him the other night and expressed the suspicion her husband must have been killed by Khalid.
