Flour mill, 10 shops sealed over violations of flour supply

MULTAN   -  District administration has sealed a flour mill and ten shops over violations of flour supply instruc­tions during a crackdown launched here on Monday.

In line with special direc­tives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Tahir Wa­too, the District Food Control­ler Ahmed Javed along with team launched a crackdown against flour mills and flour dealers involved in causing delay in supply of flour.

The officer imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 on various deal­ers for illegal hoarding of flour bags, registered two cases against hoarders and recov­ered 5500 bags of wheat dur­ing the crackdown.

The DC said that uninter­rupted supply of wheat and flour was being ensured in the district. He said that strict arrangements have been made to prevent smug­gling of wheat and flour and warned flour mill owners to ensure supply of flour in the market as per the quota.

District Food Controller Ahmed Javed said that in­spection of flour supply from mills to market was being made and strict action was being taken against profi­teers and hoarders.

BLIND MURDER CASE SOLVED, FOUR HELD

Police on Monday claimed to have solved a blind mur­der case and arrested four suspects including a woman during a special operation launched here.

According to police sourc­es, Muhammad Ramzan s/o Mushtaq reported City Shu­jabad police on August 29 that his brother Waseem was walk­ing on the road near Adda Chak R.S when two unidentified as­sailants shot him injured and escaped. He informed police that he was taking his injured brother to hospital but he suc­cumbed to injuries.

The police registered case number 255/22 under section 302/34 against unknown out­laws and started the investiga­tions into the incident.

Taking action on the case, the City Police Officer (CPO) Khurram Shahzad Haider formed a special team under the supervision of SP Sadar Division Salman Liaqat to ar­rest the criminals at the earli­est. The police arrested four criminals involved in the case including Ramzan, Akram, Us­man and Misbah Bibi.

During the interrogation, the arrested accused confessed that they killed the deceased Waseem due to a dispute he had with Ramzan over some business issues.
