FAISALABAD   -  On the identification of deputy commissioner monitoring squad, equipped with CCTV cameras, the Price Control Magistrates imposed a fine of Rs556,500 on 258 profiteers during the last week.

The magistrates also registered cases against 38 hoarders/profiteers besides arresting 12 others.

The squad held 5,457 inspec­tions from September 11-18 in the different markets of the district and noticed overcharging at 232 shops in addition to registered 205 complaints over non-display­ing of price lists.

DG ACE ASKED TO CANCEL TRANSFER

District Monitoring Officer NA-108 Syed Basit Ali has directed Director General Anti-Corruption Establish­ment (ACE) Punjab to cancel the transfer orders of Director Anti-Cor­ruption Faisalabad Ayyub Khan.

In a circular issued here on Mon­day, he said that the Election Com­mission of Pakistan had imposed a ban on all types of transfers and posting in district Faisalabad till completion of by-election in NA-108, scheduled for October 16.

He said that transfer orders issued by the DG ACE Punjab were a clear cut violation of Election Commission of Pakistan’s orders.

TWO UNAPPROVED COLONIES SEALED

The enforcement squad of Fais­alabad Development Authority (FDA) sealed two unlicensed housing schemes in tehsil Tandlianwala and demolished the structure on Monday.

According to FDA sources, the team, during checking of legal sta­tus of the colonies, found two ille­gal societies in Tandlianwala. The colonies included Sadiq Town and Gulberg City.

The FDA team demolished struc­tures in both colonies through heavy machinery and served no­tices on developers.

MAN ROBBED OF RS 1.9 MLN

Three armed bandits looted Rs 1.9 million cash from a man near Sadhar vegetable market in Thikri­wala police precincts on Monday.

Police said that Rana Shoaib was travelling to the city by a car for depositing cash in a bank branch when three armed men intercepted him and looted cash at gunpoint and sped away.

Police have started legal action on the application of the victim.
