From China’s loess plateau to Pakistan: Linxia’s blossoming economic and cultural exchange

Recently, an online economic and cultural exchange event was held between Linxia Prefecture in Gansu Province, China, and Pakistan. Initiated by Linxia Foreign Language School and its alumni association based in Pakistan, the event aimed to promote cooperation and interaction through the practical theme of “Foreign Languages + E-commerce Show New Potential, Floriculture Opens New Chapters.”

During the event, teachers and students from Linxia Foreign Language School visited a local rose megafactory, where they learned to provide multilingual guided tours and gained insights into the rose industry. They later held an exchange session with the alumni association in Pakistan to explore opportunities for collaborative development. In a public agricultural science class, students introduced rose cultivation processes in multiple languages, building bridges of communication.

At the “Foreign Languages + Industry” school-enterprise seminar, participants discussed how language services can be embedded in industrial needs. Plans were made to launch an agri-tech foreign language audiovisual project to create a virtuous cycle between education and industry. Meanwhile, students produced a short video titled Linxia Roses, showcasing the entire industry chain and strengthening ties between the two regions.

This event further deepened China-Pakistan exchanges. Linxia Foreign Language School will continue to enhance its “Foreign Languages + Digital Skills” model, innovate teaching scenarios, and explore vocational skills certification, injecting new vitality into bilateral cooperation.
