Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday signed a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening bilateral collaboration across various sectors, including culture, trade, and consular affairs.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, signed an MoU between the UAE Ministry of Culture and Pakistan's Culture Division to enhance cultural cooperation.
The two leaders also formalized the establishment of a joint committee on consular affairs through another MoU.
In a separate development, a memorandum was exchanged between the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), paving the way for the formation of the UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council. The documents were exchanged by UAE Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, and FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh.
Welcoming the UAE dignitary, DPM Dar highlighted the deep-rooted, fraternal relationship between the two nations, built on mutual trust and affection. He noted that both countries continue to collaborate for the progress and well-being of their people.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude for Pakistan's warm hospitality, describing the country as close to the hearts of the UAE leadership and himself personally. He expressed satisfaction with the current momentum of bilateral relations and reaffirmed the shared commitment to further enhancing ties.
The visit follows the February trip of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which five agreements were signed in key sectors such as banking, railways, mining, and infrastructure development.
Pakistan and the UAE enjoy longstanding ties across multiple domains, with a large Pakistani expatriate community in the UAE. Recently, the Gulf nation also introduced five-year visas for Pakistani nationals, further reflecting the strength of bilateral relations.
