Arabian Sea

The recent oceanographic expedition from Makran to Karachi, by the members of NIO (National Institute of Oceanography), SCSIO (South China Sea Institute of Oceanology) was completed in almost three weeks. In fact, this was the first China-Pakistan joint oceanographic expedition in the Arabian Sea which was a great measure taken and such expeditions should also be conducted in the future as well as they will increase oceanographic research in the Arabian Sea.

The main interest of the team was finding gas hydrates along the Makran coast and how the sea would strengthen disaster management and country’s socio-economic development.

Through such water expeditions in the Arabian Sea, our knowledge about the sea which lacked research – will be ameliorated. We will be able to know much about the marine life in the sea, which remain undiscovered.
