Dollar gains 14 paisas against rupee


KARACHI - The dollar gained strength against the Pakistani rupee in the interbank market on Friday, dealers said. It initiated the day’s trading at Rs 89.99 for buying, rose 14 paisas and closed at Rs 90.13 for buying and Rs 90.18 for selling. The Euro increased against the rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 115.87 for buying, moved 41 paisas up and closed at Rs 116.28 for buying and Rs 116.48 for selling. The British currency recorded bullish behavior against the rupee as it began the day’s trading at Rs 138.86 for buying, gained 46 paisas and closed at Rs 139.3 for buying and Rs 139.5 for selling.
In the open market, the dollar increased against the rupee, dealers said. It began the day’s trading at Rs 90.3 for buying, rose five paisas and closed at Rs 90.35 for buying and Rs 90.85 for selling. The European currency recorded growth against the rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 115.80 for buying, gained Re 1 and closed at Rs 116.80 for buying and Rs 118.80 for selling. The British pound witnessed gain against the rupee as it initiated the day’s trading at Rs 139.10 for buying, went 70 paisas up and closed at Rs 139.80 for buying and Rs 141.7 for selling.
