LAHORE - Director FIA Man-zoor claimed that the agency had arrested five terrorists most of them activists of defunct religious organisations with heavy explosives and devices to be used to target the City. He stated this while addressing a Press conference here in Police Lines on Friday. Other FIA officials were also present on the occasion. Manzoor said that the accused wanted to target official buildings and had they been succeeded in their plan it would have been the bigger disaster than that of March 11 blast which happened in FIA building. It is worth mentioning here that the Press conference was first announced on June 19 and then postponed and held on June 20 due to unknown reasons, however Manzoor said that the event was delayed due to their incomplete information regarding the case. He said that FIA Lahore got information that some criminals were planning to carry out blasts in different cities of the country and they were carrying huge amount of explosives material which would be used in these blasts. After having this tip-off, he constituted a raiding party which conducted a raid in Inayat Park, Shahdara Lahore and apprehended five persons of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. APP adds: The arrested terrorists were identified as Muhammad Azam, Inamul Haq, Anayatullah of Shahdara, Abdul Wahid of Ghalib Market Lahore and Hafiz Fida ur Rehman of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Cases have been registered against them. Man-zoor said that during investigation, the terrorists confessed that they wanted to target important installations in Lahore.
