PML-N MNA Mudassir Qayyum disqualified

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has disqualified MNA of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mudasar Qayyum Nahra and ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold election in the constituency. According to media reports, Bilal Ijaz, the opposition candidate of Mudassar Qayyum had filed a petition, challenging the graduation degree of PML-N candidate. In the previous hearing, the court had given two days to Mudassar Qayyum to resign as member National Assembly but the PML-N candidate did not resign. The Election Tribunal of LHC has disqualified Mudassar Qayyum under Article 62 and 63 of the constitution and ordered ECP to hold election in the constituency within two months. The court in its verdict said that Mudassar Qayyum won elections on the basis of fake degree and he is not eligible as member NA. Meanwhile, the hearing of case, challenging degree of member PML-N of Punjab Assembly, Yasir Raza has been adjourned till today (Tuesday). According to a private TV channel, the former ticket holder of PPP, Ishtiaq Mirza had challenged the degree of member PML-N, Yasir Raza who was elected from PP-13. Ishtiaq Mirza, the lawyer of petitioner completed his arguments in Monday's hearing.
