QUETTA - The spouse of renowned Baloch poet Mubarak Qazi was wounded in a hand grenade attack on their house in Pasni area of Gwadar district on Thursday.
Police officials said unidentified attackers on a motorbike tossed a grenade into the house of Mubarak Qazi in Fish Harbour Colony, wounding his wife. The attackers however managed to flee from the crime site.
Police and rescue workers rushed and shifted the injured to a hospital for medical aid. The explosion was so powerful that it damaged the structure of the building partially. Mubarak Qazi remained safe as he was not home when the incident took place.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch meanwhile took serious notice of the incident, and sought a report from Pasni administration.
Meanwhile, unidentified people attacked a security checkpoint with rockets in Dukki area. The rockets landed in a desolated area near the checkpost and went off with a huge bang. Luckily, no loss of life or damage to property was reported.
