Pakistan facing shortfall of 5985 MW of electricity

MIRPUR (AJK) - With the ongoing generation of 12, 175 MW of power from all available resources against the need of 18, 160 MW, Pakistan is facing the short fall of 5985 MW of power at present, official sources revealed. Quoting the Pakistan Electric Power Company, WAPDA sources told The Nation Friday that at present 4928 MW power was being generated through Hydel power resources including Mirpur-based countrys second largest Mangla dam, 1267 MW through Thermal, 5904 MW through IPPs (Independent Power Projects), 700 MW through KESC and 76 MW of power through RPPs.
