ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has expressed the confidence that the on-going Operation Zarb-e-Azb will prove to be a guarantee of peace not only in Pakistan but also in the entire region, including Afghanistan.

He was talking to ambassadors of Central Asian States and Commonwealth of Independent States in Islamabad today. The President said the armed forces are engaged in the operation to wipe out terrorists and the drive would continue till elimination of the last terrorist.

Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan wants to promote ties with all countries of the region including India on the basis of peaceful co-existence. Pakistan expects countries of the region to reciprocate for the sake of regional peace and security.

About China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the President said it would bring countries of the region closer and open new vistas of progress and development. He said countries of South Asia, West Asia and Middle East will benefit from these opportunities. The Ambassadors lauded Pakistan's role for regional peace and stability.
