President calls for development of education sector in line with modern trends

President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for development of education sector in line with the modern trends.

He was addressing inaugural ceremony of a three-day conference on 'Emerging Trends in English Language Teaching in Pakistan: Challenges and Opportunities' in Islamabad on Wednesday.               

The President stressed on enhanced international cooperation to bridge communication gap in the global age of digitalization.  

Speaking on the occasion, US ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome said the United States highly values its ties with Pakistan and is committed to strengthen the same.

He said people to people contacts are at the heart of our bilateral ties and we look forward to deepen engagement and strengthen cooperation in the realm of education.

The ambassador said this conference is a golden opportunity for professional networking, learning and developing new skills.

The conference has been organized by Allama Iqbal Open University in collaboration with US embassy in Pakistan. 

It is being attended by a large number of local and foreign researchers who will participate in different thematic and technical sessions of the conference. 159 papers will also be presented in the conference.

The conference will provide a forum to academia to engage and enhance the creative and teaching skills of English language teachers in the country.
