On the occasion of Earth Day, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif delivered a compelling message underscoring the importance of environmental preservation and sustainable action.
“Earth does not belong to us alone – it is a trust for future generations,” said the Chief Minister, emphasizing the collective responsibility to protect natural resources and combat climate change.
She highlighted key initiatives by the Punjab government including the plantation of millions of trees under the Green Punjab Campaign, the launch of Pakistan’s first Smart Environment Force, and the introduction of the country’s first comprehensive Climate Policy.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif also pointed out active steps being taken such as factory monitoring, prevention of crop residue burning through distribution of Super Seeders, and deployment of automated systems to control industrial pollution.
Reiterating Punjab’s leadership in climate action, she said, “Together, we commit to making our land greener and safer for the generations to come.”
