rawalpindi - Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lt Gen Nadeem Raza said that all resources would be utilised and efforts would also be made to uplift Federal Government Educational Institutions Cantt and Garrisons.
He said students are the future of the nation. He urged the students to seek education not only for getting degrees but for serving the country. Commander also advised teachers to give knowledge of moral values to their students so that they could be good citizen and human beings.
“Teachers should train their students so that they could recognise the right from wrong. We as nation should abide by the rules and regulations to excel in the comity of nations,” he said
He said this while addressing as a chief guest at all Pakistan Academics and Sports Awards ceremony 2017 organised by the Federal Government Educational Institutions (C/G) held at the FG Sir Syed Public School Rawalpindi on Thursday.
During the ceremony, prizes were distributed among the students belonging to the institutions of its 12 regions, including Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Chaklala, Rawalpindi, Wah, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Kharian and Fazaia, who excelled in the Exams and Sports activities held during 2017.
On the occasion, Director FGEIs (C/G) Brig. Dr Muhammad Asif Iqbal, Deputy Director Education Lt Col (Retd) Muhammad Iqbal Bajwa, Deputy Director Chaklala Region Col Saadatullah, GSOs – 1 of the Regional Offices of the representatives of HQ 10 Corps, Ministry of Defence, FGEIs Directorate, principals, teachers and students were also present.
Lt. Gen Nadeem Raza said that Army is not a profession rather it is a way of life. “It teaches how to live and how to serve the nation.”
He advised teachers to make their profession as their way of life too. He said that education is essential for development and progress of the country. He said: “The quality of a society or a nation entirely depends on quality of education and the students are the future of a nation”.
He said that knowledge was found in books but life in the society. The job of an educational institution was to make both of them compatible by linking them together.
He said that FGEIs (C/G) had outstanding tradition in the field of sports and maintained its excellence. He said that the FGEIs (C/G) was one of the finest sports nurseries for producing sportsmen for national teams as it had maintained its tradition of excellence in sports. He added that FGEIs (C/G) provided ample sports facilities to the students in different games such as cricket, hockey, football, basketball, table tennis and athletics. FGEIs (C/G) have also produced outstanding sportsmen and athletes in the country who represented the abroad. The FGEIs (C/G) Chaklala Region was declared as the best Region of 2017.
Col Saadatullah, Deputy Director FGEIs (C/G) Chaklala received a trophy of the best region from the chief guest.
The ceremony was largely attended by serving and retired officers, ex– Directors FGEIs, parents and students of the intuitions. On this occasion, Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lt Gen Nadeem Raza also planted a flower in the Garden of FG Sir Syed School and inaugurated Basket Ball Court.
