KARACHI - Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) misused the reserved retirement fund of Rs 10 million and inducted some 200 additional employees without fulfilling the legal formalities, TheNation learnt reliably on Thursday. Reports said that Director General SBCA Manzoor Qadeer Kaka took the charge as chief controller couple of years ago and utilised the retirement fund reserved for the pensions of retired employees. Sources privy to the matter disclosed that embezzlement made in the last two years in the reserved fund and it would create an extreme level of financial crisis and the department would be unable to pay the pension to the retired employees. The sources pointed out that SBCA financial losses had been rising in the last couple of years as the department would have generated Rs 0.9 million per day since 2007 and now the decline shows per day income of SBCA is Rs 400,000.
